Flat extension cords are generally used to bring power to a location while being "out of the way". Because of the unique construction of flat cords, they can be hidden under carpets and furniture, or behind walls and dividers as typically employed at tradeshows, conferences and expos. These cords also have special colored ends to make it easy to identify the cord's length when in a pile or in storage.
